Goodbye, Friend

i felt our friendship fading away.

we used to be best friends

until you started to change.

i saw you begin to change your good ways,

making me realize it was time to give up,

time to retire from the sadness you gave to me.

there are days when i remember the joy,

growing up,

we had our fun.

until you found someone new,

making our friendship vanish.

i miss the happier days

when you were a friend.

at times, i regret leaving your side,

but it was something i had to do.

i had to allow myself

a better life.

so i said,

goodbye friend,

until we meet again.
