Homeland - A Prologue
This wasn't supposed to happen. We weren't meant to be on land or anywhere near the world that caused us pain. This was going to cause the second war. The first war began when the government decided to take control and forced humans onto a spacecraft and into the air. That's right, I was once considered a person until June 4th, 2018 when a crowd of us were taken into space. We started to call ourselves ´The Aliens.´
It's been 205 years of being in space, we have adapted and discovered that we can live for a longer time than those down on Earth and still look like the humans we used to be before climbing aboard but we were ready for something to be different so the rest of the board of directors and I chose to fly onto Mars.
Something’s changed. We have landed in the wrong spot. Earth is no longer our home. The humans won’t let us stay here; they have always hated us. I look to the right of me and notice Atlas already looking over at me.
“What do we do?” I ask him.
“Get ready to fight,” Atlas says. “We’re here, we may as well try to stay but we need to kill the humans first.”
“I’ll tell the others,” I state with confidence laced into my tone. I exit the pilot’s area of the ship and walk over towards the rest of the aliens. My eyes glance around the room, the chatter slowly fades out until everyone is looking at me, waiting for orders.
“Plans have changed. We are now back on Earth,” voices began to murmur around the room. “Quiet. Let me finish. Some of you guys have never been down here before but those who have lived down here will teach you everything you need to know. It’s obvious that the humans won’t let us stay so it’s time to fight; fight for our right to live. Let’s get started.”
